The days are long and it’s officially summer, so get out there and enjoy yourselves! Me, I'm going to be wearing clothes I have to iron for the next few days attending a work event, and then Danielle and I are rolling east to N Idaho for a family campout over the weekend. This'll be my last T-Shirt post in June, so I'm trusting you all to pick up the slack for me and wear something funny, outrageous, or conversation-starting until I resume in July.

When you're having a beer over the holiday weekend, tip some out for all the people who have sacrificed so much to build the place we all live, where we are free to party like rock stars and to express our opinions through clothing and sarcasm!

A particularly appropriate shirt for June 21st, the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year. That means it’s officially BBQ season, and I started it off right: around the grill with a big gang of friends on the beach. I don't have a picture of that, so you'll have to just trust me that it was a great time and be content with my goofy grin instead.

No, today is not my birthday. But I might wear this shirt again on my birthday next year - couldn't hurt, right? Maybe my half-birthday, too?

However, just because it’s not my birthday doesn't mean you can't give me a present! I feel like I'm a pretty easy person to shop for, because I'm into so many different things. Plus, I keep a running wishlist all year that’s promptly updated when I buy something myself. :)

Still, I know some of you like your gifts to be unique and dramatic, so here’s some great ideas:

• A Seattle 1000 luxury watercraft from U.S. Submarines. No, it’s not the most expensive one - I can be frugal!

• A Ferrari F430 Spider. With a pleasant little 490-hp V8 and that signature Ferrari exhaust note, I'll think of you every time I punch the gas pedal. Which would be a lot.
• A new Core 2 Duo MacBook. Just the modest 15″ model - I'm not looking to impress the Joneses or anything.
• A hydraulic lift. It’s a lot safer than just driving my car onto 30 stacked 2×6’s. Safety is always a great gift!
• My own copy of Photoshop CS 3, one little DVD-ROM with the power to make me a better photographer (virtually, at least). When you're buying this, you're really investing in my future.
• A nice tropical island. Pierre Island in the Bahamas would be a great one, but feel free to explore around - Jamaica? The Yucatan? Baja California? Just make sure coconut trees are native and it’s big enough for a private airstrip but not so big that it needs more than one zipcode.

Don't feel like you have to stick to the list, either! Custom gifts are always welcome. Just remember to include a “from" note so I'll know who to thank, and feel free to save yourself the money and trouble of gift wrap - I'm a simple, easy-to-please sort. :)

I'm not a huge “9-oh" fan, really - I actually had trouble finding a cast pic on GIS that didn't contain a couple of strangers. But I bought this shirt anyway because, 1) I think this show (and the tv genre it spawned) made a big enough dent in pop culture that our generation will probably sit around and reminisce about it when we're old like our parents reminisce now about Howdy Doody and Bonanza, 2) because it was on sale for $4.99, which is less than I spend on an average trip to Starbucks, and 3) because I felt “senioritis" accurately describes how I feel right now - I'm ready for this semester to be over, to take a nice summer vacation sleeping in and staying out late, knowing that I've graduated and won't have to come back to this same old grind in the fall.

I love it when I wear something a little obscure, and random strangers make comments on it. A dude on the street wearing an ipod and a Jinx beanie gave a thumbs-up to my Systm shirt, and a waiter at Noodle Ranch complimented me on my nerdcore authenticity.

Here’s me scavenging a heatsink off an old video card doing something geekish wearing the shirt. So much of what I do everyday is geekish but i decided to stage a shot anyway.
